So I have this pc (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc…-657-_-Product)

Hey guys,

I’m going to be getting the parts for my new comp build this weekend and the motherboard I was planning on getting was this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc…-423-_-Product

my build will be
i7 950
ddr3 6gb
gtx 460

I do plan on overclocking
I just wanted to make sure first that this is a good board and if you guys would recommend anything else before I purchased it.

Thanks a lot!

Installed HWMonitor and Speedfan, the former reports TMPIN2 is at 128 C constantly, and the latter reports Temp 3 as -128 C :/

I’ve had no instabilities on my system so these obviously can’t be correct. Since both programs report this error I’m assuming the 3rd temp sensor is broken.

Does anyone know what this sensor corresponds to (SB, ambient, etc.)? My motherboard is an ASUS M4A77T if that helps.

Thanks.

This is more of a clarification/confirmation thread than anything. A company which I do IT work for has an old ‘Server’, which I believe is built from desktop parts(I didn’t build it). The only thing that makes me call it a server is that is had a RAID-1 mirror from what I can see, and it is the main data center for all the users on it’s network. It’s also hosting the user accounts and running a program(and a database along with that program I believe) that they all connect to. It’s not running a server OS, it has a single power supply, but based on it’s uses, I would classify it as a server.

Parts of this ’server’ are beginning to fail, and the company has asked me to replace it. My first thought is that they don’t need a ’server’ that would be built from Dell, HP, etc.. As they are a very small company, with maybe 8 employees.

My initial plan is to build a PC with two hard drives, and either a motherboard with RAID capabilities or a RAID card attachment(Not sure of the pros/cons of this, any advice is appreciated).

I’ve never built a server, but I’ve built plenty of desktop PCs. I’d assume most places you build a server are only offering the latest tech, which IMO they don’t need.

Bottom Line:
Does this plan make sense? Build them a ‘PC’ with a RAID-1 stripe over two drives, give them any basic OS — perhaps XP or whatever is available for licensing currently. Obviously the program’s compatibility would be important to note.

First time building a ’server’, so wanted to bang this idea off a few more experienced people here. Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

hi getting a new mobo soon hopefully and since i have an amazon.com gift cert i can only order from amazon.com then get it shipped to me in the UK.

And as i can get more gift certs but cant currently get anymore cash, im a bit stuck.

so looking at around $100 for the mobo came up with these choices

first two are msi, ones LGA 1156, the others am3 and have what i want, (preferably AM3) and lga1156 one looks quite nice but is MATX, on the am3 ddr3 is limited to 1600 which is also why i’m having trouble deciding

http://www.amazon.com/MSI-LGA1156-4D…d=D901TUOBIBXD

http://www.amazon.com/MSI-NVIDIA-nFo…d=D901TUOBIBXD

These two are gigabyte and ASUS both brands i trust and have, unlike MSI, both have what i need but lack crossfire or SLI and have a PCI-E X4 as well as the 16.

http://www.amazon.com/Asus-M4A785TD-…d=D901TUOBIBXD

http://www.amazon.com/785G-MAX-16GB-…d=D901TUOBIBXD

so what would you choose? MSI with everthing or sacrafice one thing for something that is tried and tested.

thanks.

Hey everybody i hope i put this in the right place as i think it might have to do with MoBo’s. So i got a virus. before sucessfully getting rid of it i tried to remove programs that i thought it was. very stupidly  i forgot what marvell was and removed a program of it, i know i have marvell ethernet and SAS/Sata controllers on my Asus P6T Deluxe LGA 1366 and it may be my inagination but my internet seems to be moving a bit slower. i think it was a program of some sort not a driver, does anybody know if it is included on the cd that comes with the motherboard? as in is that where all those default programs comes from? or would i have to scower the internet for something i dont know what it is? and if any of you guys with the same system know the marvell programs (there were 2 total) that are default id appreciate if you mentioned them, sorry for the length and thanks in advance for any help.
Hey there,
My Acer Aspire X1700 was working marvelously until this morning. I turn it on and hear the fan, see the power light – and this is the state in remains in forever. No monitor action what-so-ever. The Monitor is not the problem because I checked that out. It seems that Acer has had a similar problem with their Acer Aspire One laptops, but for that there is a simple patch download. After trying a couple things I am pretty sure that the mother board is just dead all of the sudden. Is this theory correct? I want to try all options before I buy a new motherboard or take it to the PC guy down the road.
is it possible to change a motherboard of an acer laptop to another motherboard of another laptop brand?
Hello i could use some help
My motherboard is broken and because of that i get this screen http://tinypic.com/r/rw114y/4

Can i fix it some how with out buying a new motherboard or if its not a motherboard problem whati have to do to fix it???

Hey everyone. As some of you have probably learned from me that I sold my whole entire rig because I was getting a mac. Recently, I came to a conclusion that I’m probably going to build a new rig that’s probably going to be i7. I was looking at motherboards and I couldn’t really decide which one to get. Can I get an opinion for which of these three you would choose?

EVGA Classified
ASUS Rampage II Extreme
Foxconn Bloodrage X58

THANKS!!!!

I’m interested as i will hopefully be getting a new mobo soon and Ive seen some good prices on MSI.
so are they any good, reliability wise and performance wise when compared to like asus or gigabyte , both of which have done me well in the past.

thanks

can some one tell me if i can change the mother board of an acer aspire 4920 laptop? and if i can how do i do it? im kinda new at this.
PLEASE HELP.

Hi, i’m in the process of finding parts to build my first pc. I am going to be using the AMD Phenom II X4 945 CPU,
2X Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 GPU’s in crossfire,
8GB (4X2GB) of Corsair 1333 DDR3,
Windows 64bit,
and the Corsair TX 750W PSU.

I am looking to spend $100-190 on a good bang for buck Motherboard.
I have been looking at the ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 Motherboard, and the higher and lower models. Is this a good choice? Also, in the VGA section of the specifications for ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 Motherboard it said "Maximum shared memory of 1GB" in the list:confused:. Does this mean it won’t support the 2X Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 GPU’s in crossfire? One other thing, I need a computer with wireless internet, does this motherboard have wireless internet inbuilt? If not how do I get Wireless Internet?
Thanks heaps for your time.:)

I want a new motherboard but I am a bit of a neewbie in that case:confused:. I am searching for a motherboard that works good with a i5 760 and a GTX 460.

hope someone have any advise for me, if u need more info just tell me.

Greetings all,
…….I have a TOSHIBA A75-S229 (PSA70U-00E00G) laptop….Motherboard bad…Waiting for replacement….

….From the display are 2 wires 1 BLACK and 1 WHITE that disappear through a hole centrally located in the case….(they are not the ribbon connectors but, resemble a "snap/slide-on" METALLIC connector of sorts)….

…. While disassembling, the wires popped off their designated place on the motherboard…

…..WHERE (circuit designation or pict or schematic) do these wires connect as there also appears to possibly be a polarity for them?….I THINK I have located the area/connection point(s) but, need better magnification…..THANKS

Best iPad Manager Software
If you are oppressed by where to find high-efficiency software as what I did three days ago, I tell you an unexpected news that I have found iPad Manager . It is of great use for you to manage files between iPad and PC. You can manage music from iPad to PC . You can manage music from PC to iPad as well. In addition, you can manage videos from PC to iPad . In a word, it is really of great use.
basically i dont know how to do all the bios stuff but i do have the i7-875K so i want to overclock this thing, is there a board or a way i dont have to go into bios? i saw asus makes the ones with like a remote, is it really that simple?
If my mobo manual doesnt list a certain model of memory does that mean it is not compatable?

Thanks

Motherboard: Intel D845gerg2, used, installed it in a desktop, cannot get it to fire up, checked power supply, OK. Checked the ohmic resistance between the "Power On" (Green)terminal of the MB power connection and the "Front Panel Hdr # 6 (Power On Sw. +) it was: 23.2 ohm’s. Other MB I have checked all have 15 to 16 ohms resistance. I can jumper the green & black lines at the power connection, the fan’s all start, of course the computer will not stay running when I remove the jumper. What would be considered a normal resistance between the two terminal’s as mentioned above? Also, what would prevent the unit from firing up?
i had to recase my computer yesterday, i have been using 4 x 512 sticks of ram but when i put it all back together in the new case it will only accept 2 sticks and if i put anymore in it will beep at me when i turn it on and it will not boot up ???? any ideas
What does everyone think about the Rampage boards???

Hi guys,

Any help much appreciated :)

Building a friend a computer, only problem I’m having is no image on the monitor..so pritty big problem :P

I’ve tried different monitors, different vga cables and different gfx card both in the 2 difference pcie slots. So as far as i can tell it only option left is the motherboard? There is no beeping all the lights on the motherboard turn on all the fans work so everything is receiving power. Is there a possibility there is something else causing this?

Thankyou

Matt

Could a few people link me the best 3xSLI or better motherboard out there???

I would like it to have good reviews and be not to crazy expensive. I have 2 GTX 465’s and would like to have the option to add another one and need a good board to run at least 2 slots at 16x and the rest at 8 or better.

Thanks in advance :)

Ok so I’m putting my P4 Back together but decided to upgrade it to a 3.2GHz HT so i can still play my 2005 games, the only issue is that i cant post, the 2.66 works fine and i checked compatibility it says im fine. I updated the Bios to 1018, but still no go, i really hope the cpu aint dead but whatelse could prevent the cpu from working?

Pentium 4 2.66 –> 3.2 HT
2GB DDR 400
500GB Sata I
AGP ATI 4650

do u think the graphics could be preventing it from starting (I need to attach a Molex to give it juice) as my PS isnt all that strong i think 350 or 400 watts, but then again does the P4 HT need more juice then a P4 to the point that it cant start?

It says "Fix the issue that system may hang during POST when using certain graphic card". I’m not sure what it means and what "POST" is but sometimes when I’m gaming the system kinda freezes for a couple of seconds then goes back to normal. Is it what this fix is all about ?
I want use the Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad-core QX9300 2.53GHz Mobile Processor – 2.53GHz – 1066MHz FSB – 12MB L2 – RoHS Compliance
